With over 15 years of experience in pharmaceutical regulation policy development and academic leadership he oversees the implementation and continuous improvement of quality management systems that align with national and international standards.
Dr. Kamara holds a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from the University of Benin Nigeria is a Fellow of the West African Postgraduate College of Pharmacists (Pharmacy Administration & Regulation) and has additional qualifications including a Master of Science in Pharmaceutical Sciences (University of Sierra Leone) and a Certificate in Pharmaceutical Policy Analysis (Utrecht University The Netherlands). His academic and professional expertise equips him to drive quality assurance.
The Quality Assurance Department provides strategic oversight and direction for the Pharmacy Board of Sierra Leoneโs quality management systems. It ensures that all processes services and outputs meet national requirements and international best practices safeguarding public health and enhancing customer satisfaction.
Core Functions:
1. Provision of oversight and direction of systems and processes across all departments.
2. Harmonization and management of quality documents for implementation and accreditation.
3. Implementation of ISO standards including ISO 9001 (for all departments) and ISO 17025 (for the laboratory).
4. Ensuring continual improvement of processes to meet national and international best practices.
5. Enhancing customer satisfaction through robust review and assessment measures.
Units of the Department:
This unit conducts systematic reviews monitoring and internal audits to assess compliance performance and effectiveness of quality systems across the Pharmacy Board. It provides evidence-based recommendations for continual improvement and alignment with national and international standards.
This unit manages the development harmonization and secure archiving of all quality-related documents to ensure accuracy consistency and traceability. It supports implementation of ISO standards and the accreditation process across all departments and the laboratory.
